Moulder invests in future despite testing times |
1st August 2008 – A walsall-based injection Moulder is defying the doom and gloom of the credit
crunch and has invested in a further two Battenfeld moulding machines.

and higher than expected order levels for the next six months.
The company, which now has 11 Battenfeld machines, has also boosted employee numbers from nine -21 in the past nine months.
MD Andrew Penn said maintaining levels of quality and service and improving efficiency were key to making progress in an
industry where prices are rising dramatically.
He said “we have invested heavily in the past two years and now we are seeing the benefits of this.”
Penn added that the firm was in negotiations over a large contract and said there were plans to buy more machines

The UK injection moulder will bring equipment in-house |
17 May 2006 – UK injection moulding firm Moldwel Products is
to bring a customer’s assembly work in-house, requiring temporary closure for installation of equipment. Moldwel is to
close its factory in Walsall for over a week to install an assembly area to take on additional
work for the customer.
Moldwel agreed to take over assembly, packaging and labelling for the client on top of the injection
moulding the firm was already doing. The new facility will cost in the region of £10,000-15,000, housing testing and
assembly equipment such as labelling machines and water pressure testers.
Moldwel will carry out the installation itself and believes the move could help it attract new business.
Andrew Penn, managing director, said: “We hope it will add an extra string to our bow as moulding is very, very competitive at the moment.”

Moldwel says that its investment in modern machinery has paid off |
17 August 2005 – Moldwel Products, the Walsall, UK-based trade injection moulder,
has secured a major contract with one of its current customers in the healthcare sector.

a number of new jobs at the company.
Managing director Andrew Penn said: “Winning this contract has vindicated our decision
to invest in new and modern machinery. While many of our competitors and similar sized companies have been struggling
and cutting back, we have continued to invest which has allowed us to improve our efficiency and quality.”
The company operates nine injection moulding machines ranging from 40 to 480 tonnes clamping force and has a
toolroom with CNC milling machines, a spark eroder and several manual machines, as well as Solidworks and Matercam CAD/CAM facilities.
The 30-year-old family business currently employs 12 staff. Penn said another four jobs could be created.
Penn said: “We place a great deal of time and effort in making sure our customers get what they want, when they want it,
and I am sure the level of service we provide was the telling factor in winning this contract.
